Title: Evaluation of The Organizational Structure of Sports Organizations: The case of Greek MSO

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the organizational structure of Greek Municipal Sports Organizations and to classify them based on their organizational types. The sample consisted of eighty-four Municipal Sports Organizations/Companies/Sports Offices. The Sport Commission Organization Structure Survey questionnaire (SCOSS) was modified and translated in Greek, in order to be used for this survey. The Exploratory Factor Analysis for the aforementioned sample detected three factors: a) formalization, b) concentration, c) complexity with high reliability coefficients for all factors. The Confirmatory Factor Analysis revealed highly satisfactory indicators. Consequently, the model fitted the sample data quite well. The Cluster Analysis for the sample identified three basic groups of organizational characteristics. The results of this study verified the validity and the reliability of the SCOSS questionnaire and may be used by Municipal Sports Organizations/Companies/Sports Offices, in order to manage organizations effectively.

Abstract
The primary purposes of this study were to investigate: (a) the extent to which human resource empowerment is applied to Greek Municipal sport organizations, and (b) the correlation between human resource empowerment and organizational performance of Greek Municipal sport organizations. The study was a quantitative design using descriptive statistics, and Spearman correlation, to examine the purpose of the study. A sample of 120 directors of 30 Greek Municipal sport organizations in the region of Peloponnese was surveyed using a questionnaire. The results of the particular study indicated that the human resource empowerment process is applied to a large extent by Greek Municipal sport Organizations. Also, the present study supported that significant and positive correlations were found between human resource empowerment and organizational performance of Municipal sport organizations. This study is useful in extending the concept of human resource empowerment to sport sector.

Abstract
In the past few years, the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the international governing body for football, had to deal with a number of challenges related to FIFA governance and mainly to FIFA leadership. As a result, a number of changes to FIFA governance have occurred, including the resignation of its previous leader immediately after his fourth re-election. The present article discusses the role and nature of previous and current leadership to FIFA governance as evidence of FIFA ‘modernization’ in the framework of global sport governance. in order to do so, it first discusses the notions of governance and leadership as applied in the case of FIFA. Then, it gives evidence of FIFA internal reform and FIFA cooperation with other football related international organizations in order to show the impact of modern global sport governance in football in terms of participation and reform. In the end, it discusses the prospects of FIFA as a continuous leader of world football.

Οι διακοπές, το ταξίδι και οι δραστηριότητες άθλησης και αναψυχής αποτελούν σημαντικό κομμάτι της ζωής των ατόμων με αναπηρία ως μέσο απόδρασης από την καθημερινότητα, ενίσχυσης των οικογενειακών δεσμών, προαγωγής της υγείας, της αυτοπεποίθησης και της ανεξαρτησίας. Έρευνες στον τουρισμό έδειξαν ότι τα άτομα με αναπηρία συναντούν πολλά εμπόδια στη συμμετοχή τους σε δραστηριότητες άσκησης και αναψυχής εξαιτίας της έλλειψης προσβάσιμων προορισμών, εγκαταστάσεων, μέσων μεταφοράς, κατάλληλης πληροφόρησης και των εμποδίων επικοινωνίας και συμπεριφοράς, αλλά συχνά συναντούν εμπόδια και στην εύρεση διαμονής, προσιτής και προσβάσιμης. Σκοπός της παρούσας έρευνας ήταν η διερεύνηση των διαστάσεων προσβασιμότητας των αθλητικών τουριστών με αναπηρία όσον αφορά στα τουριστικά καταλύματα και στις αθλητικές εγκαταστάσεις. Στην έρευνα χρησιμοποιήθηκε το ερωτηματολόγιο “Accessible Tourism Accommodation Survey” – ATAS, που αφορά στις ανάγκες διαμονής των ατόμων με αναπηρία με βάση την προσβασιμότητα. Τα αποτελέσματα της έρευνας ανέδειξαν τις διαστάσεις προσβασιμότητας των ταξιδιωτών με αναπηρία στο χώρο του αθλητικού τουρισμού, τα οποία η βιομηχανία του τουρισμού καλείται να κατανοήσει και να ανταποκριθεί σε αυτά μέσα από το σχεδιασμό και επανασχεδιασμό προϊόντων και υπηρεσιών στο χώρο του αθλητικού τουρισμού.

Abstract
Vacations, journey and physical and recreational activities are an important part of their life as a means in order to escape from their daily routine, to strengthen family ties and to promote health, self-confidence and independence. Researches in tourism have shown that disabled people face many obstacles when they participate in sport and recreation activities because of the lack of accessible destinations, of facilities, of means of transport, of appropriate information and because of obstacles in communication and behavior, but also in finding an accessible accommodation. The aim of this research was the investigation of the dimensions of sport tourists’ accessibility as regards tourist accommodation and sport facilities. “Accessible Tourism Accommodation Survey” – ATAS scale was used in this research, which is about the accommodation needs of disabled people based on the accessibility. The surveys’ data revealed preferences, habits, needs and barriers to access for travelers with disabilities in the area of sports tourism, which the tourism industry is invited to understand and to respond to them through the design and redesign of products and services in the field of sports tourism.

Η διαδικασία αλλαγής συμπεριφοράς του Διαθεωρητικού Μοντέλου είναι πολύ κοντά στις στρατηγικές διαπραγμάτευσης των ανασταλτικών παραγόντων διότι ως διαδικασία αλλαγής συμπεριφοράς αναφέρονται οι εναλλακτικές δραστηριότητες που χρησιμοποιούν τα άτομα για να βελτιώσουν τις εμπειρίες τους και να αλλάξουν συμπεριφορά. Σκοπός της έρευνας ήταν να μελετήσει τη σχέση των στάσεων ως προς την άσκηση και τη χρήση των στρατηγικών διαπραγμάτευσης. Το δείγμα αποτέλεσαν 615 συμμετέχοντες σε προγράμματα Αθλητισμού Αναψυχής του Δήμου Θεσσαλονίκης. Τα ερωτηματολόγια που εφαρμόσθηκαν ήταν η κλίμακα των στρατηγικών διαπραγμάτευσης (AlexandrisKouthouris & Girgolas, 2007 και Marcus, Rossi, Selby, Niaura, Abrams, 1992c) και η κλίμακα για την καταγραφή των στάσεων προς την άσκηση (Schiffman & Kanuk, 2007). Τα αποτελέσματα φανέρωσαν στατιστικά σημαντική συσχέτιση των Γνωστικών Στάσεων και πέντε υπο-κλίμακες και των Στρατηγικών διαπραγμάτευσης. Οι Συναισθηματικές Στάσεις φανέρωσαν στατιστικά σημαντική συσχέτιση σε επτά υπο-κλίμακες των Στρατηγικών διαπραγμάτευσης. Τα αποτελέσματα από την ανάλυση παλινδρόμησης φανέρωσαν στατιστικά σημαντική συνεισφορά την οποία προσέφεραν οι υπο-κλίμακες Αυτό-παρακίνηση, Ενεργοποίηση, Ενίσχυση, Δέσμευση και Χρόνος ως προς την πρόβλεψη της πρόθεσης. Οι θεωρητικές και πρακτικές εφαρμογές των αποτελεσμάτων αυτών θα συζητηθούν.
Title: Investigating the relationship between attitudes and negotiation strategies in recreational sport activities.

Abstract
The process of change behavior of the Transtheoretical Model is very close to the negotiation strategies of leisure constraints because as process of behavioral change are defined the alternative activities that individuals used in order to improve their experiences. This paper aimed to study the relationship between attitudes towards exercise and the use of negotiation strategies. The sample consisted of 615 participants in municipality sport programs in Thessaloniki. The leisure negotiation scale (Alexandris Kouthouris & Girgolas, 2007 and Marcus, Rossi, Selby, Niaura, Abrams, 1992c) and the Attitudes towards exercise scales (Schiffman & Kanuk, 2007) were used. The results showed significant statistical relationships between the Cognitive Attitudes and five of the sub-dimensions of negotiation strategies. The affective attitude component showed statistical significant relationship with seven of the sub-dimensions of negotiation strategies. The results of the regression analysis showed statistically significant contribution on the prediction of intention from self-motivation, activation, support, commitment and time. The theoretical and practical implications of these results will be discussed.

Περίληψη
Η παρούσα μελέτη, αποτελεί μια προσπάθεια ανάδειξης της σημασίας και των οφελών που μπορούν να προκύψουν από τον αθλητικό τουρισμό, εστιάζοντας ιδιαίτερα στην γεωγραφική περιοχή της Πελοποννήσου. Για την πληρέστερη κατανόηση του θέματος, επιλέχθηκε η ποιοτική μέθοδος και ο καθορισμός του δείγματος πραγματοποιήθηκε με βάση τη σκόπιμη δειγματοληψία. Δείγμα της έρευνας αποτελούν οι υπεύθυνοι αθλητισμού και τουρισμού των δήμων καθώς και στελέχη των τουριστικών τμημάτων των επιμελητηρίων της περιφέρειας Πελοποννήσου. Συντάχθηκε ένα σύνολο ερωτήσεων έπειτα από ανασκόπηση της βιβλιογραφίας, το οποίο διαχωρίζεται σε τέσσερα μέρη προκειμένου να εξεταστούν τέσσερις βασικοί παράμετροι: η σημασία και η υπάρχουσα κατάσταση, τα οφέλη, οι προϋποθέσεις και η στρατηγική που θα πρέπει να ακολουθηθεί για την ανάπτυξη του αθλητικού τουρισμού. Τα αποτελέσματα έδειξαν ότι ο αθλητικός τουρισμός είναι ένα εργαλείο, το οποίο αν χρησιμοποιηθεί σωστά μπορεί να έχει πολλαπλά οφέλη, για την περιφέρεια Πελοποννήσου. Η προσπάθεια για την ανάπτυξη του αθλητικού τουρισμού, θα πρέπει να στηριχθεί τόσο από τον κρατικό μηχανισμό όσο και από την ιδιωτική πρωτοβουλία.

Abstract
This study is an attempt to highlight the importance and the benefits that can be derived from sport tourism, in particular focusing on the geographic region of the Peloponnese. For a more complete understanding of the issue, the qualitative method was chosen and the sample determination was based on the deliberate sampling. The research was addressed to the directors of municipal sport and tourism organizations as well as to the directors of tourism departments of the chambers in the region of Peloponnese. A set of questions was written reviewing the bibliography, which is divided in four parts examining four key parameters: importance and current situation, benefits, conditions and the strategy which should be followed for Sport Tourism development. The conclusions are summarized as following: sport tourism is a tool, which, if used correctly, can have multiple benefits, for the region of Peloponnese. The development of sport tourism should be supported by the public mechanism and the private initiative.
